Dale Jr has said...time and time again that he does not want to be his father. I seriously wish that people would stop comparing him to his father because Dale Jr is his own person!! Dale Jr is making his own legacy in Nascar. He's his own person and he sure as hell isn't trying to be his father.

Seriously...some people need to open their eyes and realize that there will never be another Dale Earnhardt Sr., Dale Jr may have his father's name but he is his own man and he is doing things his way!! Dale Jr is doing things his way.

I'm 48 and you have a wonderful range to choose from. I'd say mostly 60's to present, and The Beatles "Birthday" is MUST! You'll want crowd pleasers from the various decades--mostly 60's --present. Stuff like Mony Mony by either Tommy James and the Shondells or Billy Idol, Love Shack--the B52s, Walk like an Egyptian, Some Eagles would be nice, Led Zeppelin, Stones, Paul Simon, Queen, Abba, Aerosmith and lots of current stuff that is great too. Mostly just keep it upbeat and classic. Are there other genres besides rock/pop that he likes? There's some awesome classic country, motown, 90's grunge, alternative and there's even some mighty good bubblegum (the Monkees were the best!). And don't forget disco! You'll need some Bee Gees. Mix it up and have a blast! Also--are people going to sit down to eat? If so you'll want stuff like Eagles, Carol King, Carly Simon, Bette Midler--more toned down for dinner. Good luck!

I don't think anybody could ever fill the shoes of Dale Earnhardt. Actually, I wouldn't want anybody to try. Dale Earnhardt is a legend that did a lot for this sport. In today's NASCAR world, I don't think it is possible for anybody to do what he did.

As far as Dale Jr, he wants to be himself and not try to be anybody else. I like Dale Jr the way he is. He gives and takes like a mature driver. I don't think he wants to follow his Dad's footsteps. He wants to set his own legacy.

Dale Jr. is doing a great job as it is and should be taken for his own talent just as Dale Sr was not a cookie cutter of his own father. Each generation has to find their own niche in their particular endeavor or career. Undoubtedly Dale will and is successful in his own right...no worries for Jr! Comparing the two is unfair to them both because they both have legacies in the sport of their own.
I feel that Dale Jr does not want to follow in his footsteps but make footprints of his own on the sport that they both loved.

NO, Dale Jr has NO intention of trying to fill his Dad's shoes. Dale Jr is his own style of driver.

Jr. is his own man. He's not trying to be like anyone. And I don't think anyone will ever win 7 championships like Dale and Petty did.

Dale Jr needs to be his own drivier. To many people look up to him to take his dad's place and that is not how they should view him. You should like Jr because of his skills and performance not because of who his daddy was.

I am a Jr fan but I feel is Earnhart Sr was one of the best there ever will be. Those are big shoes to fill and it's hard to do that with everyone watching you. He has the potiential but it's up to him whether he lives up to it or not.

I think he's still young, give him a few years to continue to develop. A lot has to do with your pit crew, people in your garage and the people who develop and build his car. Ownership is so very important to a driver success. Does Teresa have what it takes to make Junior successful like his father would have, if he was still a live and the owner of Juniors car! Junior is not as cut throat as his dad. This may be what gave Senior the edge. Junior wants to be himself, not a carbon copy of his dad.
