Blue Angel, in my opinion... something wonderful always comes from something bad. Thank you for sharing your story dear.

Taking care of my granddaughter slowly but surely ended my social life. Which is a good thing.
I started back to church and dedicated my life to God. My husband was diagnosed with heart disease 4 months after my granddaughter was born. He had open heart surgery and is doing fine, but it scared me to death. The combination of the birth of my granddaughter and my husbands near death experience really put everything in perspective. Sometimes something good does come from something bad, doesn't it. :)

Becoming a Christian Witness of Jehovah for sure!
Nothing forced, in fact, I took 7yrs to 'make sure'.
Nobody rushed me. My hubby wanted to get baptized as one of JW's ,but was encouraged to study longer before taking that step (Eccl 5:2)
Does that seem like he was being rushed to membership? as many religions attempt to do on your first visit to their church!
Hubby was a good Catholic altarboy... tried Lutheran, later appointed a deacon in a Baptist church, but had zero knowledge of the Bible... Learned more in a month studying with JW's (amazed) than in a lifetime in various religions. We're united in true worship for almost 50yrs now... Met some great folks in our door-to-door
ministry this morning... I had the privelege of teaching a 42 yr old Mom of 5 in my home last night. SHE came to MY HOME.
We prayed together, she learned new & exciting things & I was very refreshed. We had wholesome fun & laughs using my webcam afterwards. Weekly/bi-weekly bible studies are rewarding !!!
STUDYING God's "Letter'' is better than simply reading it. That's what JW's always encourage others to do. That's all, folks :)

I stumbled across this question becuase makesure says studying with JWs is a change for the better. Whilst I agree that following bible principles is a definite change for the better, following a high control religious group is not in the long term.

Makesure, please read jwfacts.com in order to make sure you know both sides of the story before getting baptised. Sadly I was baptised at 16. At 35 I found out the history and false doctrine of the Watchtower Society. My parents and extended family are forced by Watchtower doctrine to shun me. Disfellowshipping is a control technique used by the Watchtower Society, and many other damaging high control religions.

The bible says that Jesus is our mediator and our head. If you look at http://jwfacts.com/index_files/mediator.htm you will see the Watchtower Society follows the practice of high control groups to say that Jesus is not your mediator, but only that of the leaders. Being saved is dependant on how you treat the leaders of the religion.

My change for the better has been to recently leave and start to worship God for who he truly is, free for a highly regulatory group. Now, if only my family would see the light and be allowed to speak to me again.

My mom had a baby. I was really freaked out when I first heard but now I love her to death.

I decided to stop taking uppers and drinking.

I turned 18 (this summer, such a great age but I still wish I'd hurry up and be 21)

I have been spending time seeking God and studying with a Jehovah's Witness. I have been learning things in Bible , previously I didn't know was there. They really know a lot about the bible.
