My twins are 11.5 months old and they are not a bit interested in walking yet. They love crawling or cruising as it is called these days.
They were also born preemies @ 32weeks.
I would have to say that some babies will walk as early as 4 months to as late as 18 months. It all depends. My 2nd cousin never even crawled, just began walking at 4 months.
Go figure!
Hope this has helped you...

Your little girl is right on track, and maybe could be considered as walking early. Babies can start trying to walk on their own as early as 8 or 9 months, and some don't have any interest in it until they're nearly two, if they're perfectly happy with crawling.
My niece is 11 months also, and she just started walking. She can go a few feet now before she falls. I have a friend whose little girl is 13 or 14 months, and she just started walking. She took to it quickly, and walkes very well. Another friends little girl is about 16 or 17 months, and she's just starting to walk.
My son is 8 months, and he's trying to. He'll pull himself up on something and just let go and try to turn and walk to something else. He can stand in place for a few seconds, and he always looks so surprised when he lands on the floor!
It's also perfectly normal for them to be on their toes, and for them to be a little bowlegged. They'll grow out of both things as their muscles get stronger.

Mine started walking at 10 mths, but I know plenty of babies that did not start walking till after they were a year old.

I can only tell you from expirience with my son. He crawled at six months, pulled himself up at seven months, cruised furniture by eight months, and by a year he was walking completely independently. Yes, it is normal for them to start walking on their toes, took my son a few months to grow out of it, but it is normal for some to walk on their toes up until two I think.

It can vary from baby to baby. Some start as early as 8 months, others don't start until 18 months or even later...my little boy started at 9 months.

there is no 'normal' age. i've seen kids start walking at 8 months! but it is usually around a year or so.
about the toes, i'm not sure. is she on her toes all the time? i think it is normal for them to do sometimes, but if it is all the time, ask her pediatrician.

I have 2 boys, and from the experience I've had with my friends, girls tend to walk earlier....although according to my mom, i didn't walk until i was 17 months old....lol. My oldest was 15 months old, and my youngest was 12 months old. So you may have a little genius on your hands!!!
