i want to use an old game requiring dos to play

Go to the START button and pick Programs. Go to the Accessories folder and pick COMMAND PROMPT. That should RUN your MS DOS game. Have fun

There are many ways, the easiest way is to download MS Virtual Pc, its free, and you can then install Dos in there and run your games, I use Virtual PC to test new software and for running old programs without wrecking your pc settings.
Also if you do a search on google for PC DOS emulators there are a few free downloads.
The XP command prompt does not always allow you to run DOS games, as its not a full DOS command window, but it is worth a try.

Click Start
Click Run
Type "cmd" in the open dialog box
You will get a command prompt

just click button start->Run(button click)in that type command or
cmd u can start use dos window.

go to start ==> got run ==> type cmd and hit enter........
thats it ur in command prompt..........
