This will be marked down I'm sure, but I am absolutely shocked at some of the responses to this question. Of course, people are entitled to hold their opinions, but where are some of you coming up with the idea that Bush has done a good job? I am entirely at a loss here. It's as if some of you have been ignoring all news for the past two to three years while insisting on remaining inside your little fairy tale land where Bush is the Good Protector holding the line against the evil in the world.
I know it's painful to realize that your world view is flawed, but you must analyze the foundation of your beliefs and move on as a person.
To the question, Bush is absolutely the worst President we have had in many many years. He was a failed President until 9/11, when he moved into this infallible super-President in the eyes of many. First off, does anyone remember the headline of Le Monde on 9/11? It read we are all Americans. At the point, the U.S. had so much potential to lead this world into a new era of progressive growth. Instead, Bush has made the U.S. the target of world-wide scorn. (I'm sure this point is lost on many of you has you have never and will never travel more than 10 miles or so from your place of birth during your entire lifetime.)
We are not safer. Iraq was headed by a terrible leader, but it was not attached to terrorism. Now, unfortunately, Iraq IS the center of terrorist training and a spark for these religious extremists. IF Bin Laden is still alive, this is absolutely the best he could have hoped for, to have the U.S. bogged down in a war and the object of hatred that can be held to motivate those to their cause. Don't any of you know the story of the U.S.S.R and their loss at the hands of jihadis in Afghanistan? Do you honestly think it's fair to place U.S. soldiers up against these people who are fighting for their very homes? Iraq is pointless and has been a waste of vastly more lives than were lost on 9/11. This is what you think has made us safer?
His administration failed to follow the advice of the military planners, and Rumsfeld pushed forward his non-plans for post-war Iraq. The instability can be directly attributed to their failings as politicians.
I know this questions is only on security (and God knows Bush's domestic policies have been disastrous) so this is a partial list only of his administration's failings: Afghanistan has been ignored and is now falling into the hands of the resurgent Taliban, Iraq is now a center of terrorist activity, worldwide opinion of the U.S. is as low as anytime in recent history, and North Korea now has nuclear weapons (pronounced NU-CLEAR, Bush).
How can you say the world is safer? This President cannot even string two complete thoughts together and you trust him with your security? Honestly, at this point, if there isn't a change on November 7th then I will have lost all hope for this society.
It's like some of you have been transported here from the Middle Ages and you have no ability to engage in reason or self-reflection because the big, scary world has you consumed with fear. President Bush is man straight from the Old Testament, with his disrespect for life and his primitive impressions of morality. Wake up! Please!
Regarding a war in Iraq, I will leave you with the words of YOUR Vice President Cheney, from a speech in 1992, after being asked how many additional casualties would have been acceptable in order to remove Saddam following Gulf War I:
"And the answer is not very damned many. So I think we got it right, both when we decided to expel him from Kuwait, but also when the president made the decision that we'd achieved our objectives and we were not going to go get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq."
Seem familiar? He had it right then. Stop believing what these people are telling you, stop living your lives in fear. There are more options than these two political parties. Get involved and become aware of your place in this country!

I don't feel safe with the nations leaders. No Bush and the other leaders have their own agenda. They tell the people half truths and later the news come out as scandals.
For example, the Page scandal with the Republican Party from Florida. He is clearly a pedophile and their is more then just emails which has gone on. He had computer sex with minor boys. People have known for years. I believe the president and his advisers were also aware. So how many will be scapegoats of this scandal.
watch the scandal: The News wont call him what he is, a pedophile. A child molester. Our leaders made it seem just because he is in rehab for alcohol it excuses his behaviors. He needs to be arrested and put in jail. Let him rehabilitate in jail where he belongs. Our nation needs to stop protecting people like him.
Everyone in the government who knew about his behaviors should be fired and arrested because they allowed it to continue. Like giving it a stamp of approval.

The damage Duhbya has done to this country will not just magically disappear when he is out of office. It will take many years to repair this country and with the candidates left as the probable successors, I'm not even a little bit confident that any one of them will be able to do anything except make matters even worse. The only decent candidate is Ron Paul and the sheeple are too stupid to wake up in time to give this country the chance it needs.

Yes, because George W. Bush makes it a priority to keep the United States of America a safe place for all Americans to live, work, and enjoy life. Now that is one of the many ways in which George W. Bush has a passion for people.

Yes I do feel he is a very good president and I do feel safe. Life for me and my family has never been better. Just remember, President Bush and America did not start the war in iraq. The actions of a truely insane muslim did.

I support him as our nations leader because that's what the Bible tells us to do - to support and pray for our leaders. I don't feel safe with anyone in office because we are living in the last days and whatever has to happen before the coming of Christ is going to happen regardless of who is in office.

Not at all! I will only feel safe once we grovel and beg before the feet of those who wish to destroy us. Then we'll be safe! Besides, it was actually Bush and Cheney who flew those planes into the WTC towers as any reasonable person will tell you. Muslims and Arabs got blamed solely on account of their brown skin.

We are only as safe as our weakest link, which is Bush. NO. Not safe for a minute.
I do not support someone who lies, and uses fear as a tool to keep him in power, and take away our rights.

I support any president in office, but that does not mean I agree with or condone his policies and actions.
Saying that, I'd feel safer being locked in a room with hungry lions.
