ive been in cross country for some time now, but i cant seem to get rid of these pre-race jitters.
HELP!! Im running in a HUGE 5k tomorrow and these "jitter" thingys need to dissapear!!
Help!!

5k is only about 3 miles and it is not really hard. you will be alright. once you start racing it will be a lot better.

I always feel the same way. I just have to focus my attentions on something else, like warming up etc. Jumping around, getting rid of that nervous energy. And pray. Just focus on anything but the race. Think of the race of a practice...

well this is probably tooooo late, but i know how you feel. i had conference today at some place...dellwood park...never go there
AGAIN but anyways...haha theres probably no real cure, try not to think about it. just think about how much everyone else i nervous. and if you're good, you shouldn't be intimidated by anything. go out there and dominate!! and if you're mediocre, focus on what you did wrong before. maybe mile 2 wasn't good..or maybe your kick wasn't good. focus on what you're doing and why you're doing it. you're in cross country!!! just do it!!!
