I did, but I couldn't identify it

One day.. my friend and I were in the backyard.. we were around 10-12 years old.. we both noticed this football shaped spinning object hovering above us. This continued for several mins.. the object was lower than the clouds but still high enough that we really couldnt get a great look. The object stayed in one place and didn't move (other than spin) for about 15 mins as we watched it and talked about it.
finally.. we decided to run inside (about 20 feet away) and get some binoculars (on top of the dresser) (total trip inside lasted no more than 45 seconds)
when we came out.. the object had moved WAYYYYY across the horizon and now was holding still over another part of the sky. When we got a closer look with the binocs.. it had what appeared to be windows.
as we were trying to figure out how something that stayed still for 15 mins shot across the sky in a matter of seconds (and we were still watching it.) it cloaked.
yes.. i said it cloaked.
it just faded into nothingness.
we agreed not to tell anyone about what we saw because they wouldn't believe us.
I still don't know what it was and never saw anything like it again.
could have been some government crap for all i know.
but that is the exact description of actual events. (not saying what it was.. just what i saw.)

I'm pretty sure that what I saw was probably a UFO. One night this bright light hovered over town for a couple minutes and then just shot off to the right and zoomed out of sight in just a few seconds....

Three star like objects ,moving in a side by side formation.The two on each side peel off and hang U -turns so sharp no airplane could do that(or jet) and then they speed off at an incredible rate of speed,the third one continued straight at the same speed.I was 19 at the time now I'm 54,haven't seen one since.

Yes my son and I seen very large lights in formation very high in the sky and they went from slow to super fast, I don't know their origin as to were they alien or not
