the movies "alien planet" and "elegant universe" seem very interesting to me but I never heard what others think about it so if you have ever watched either one of them please tell me what you think about them.

I have seen "Elegant Universe", and I don't consider the theories presented there elegant at all. They seem clumsy and contrived to me, much the same way that Ptolemy's system of equants, deferents and epicycles was contrived and complex but still managed to correctly predict the positions of the planets even though it was wrongly assuming that those planets all orbited Earth.
