This is very normal for babies, its just the muscle in her throat isnt developed all the way. It will get better in time.

I really don't think Its the formula unless your child is spitting up or gassy/fussy while having the hiccups. Other than that I wouldn't be alarmed about it. If it continues to be a concern it certainly wouldn't hurt a soul to contact your pediatrician to ease your worries. Just a simple question to your docter's nurse would clear everything up! But, you know back in the old times the old folk use to say when the babies get the hiccups they were growing...... So, maybe your little one is getting out of the way for another little one....who knows. (smile) I wish you and your family well!

It is normal. My baby is 10 weeks old, and she still gets the hiccups all the time. I have noticed that if you give her a pacifer to suck on, it makes the hiccups not last as long.

I am 39 weeks and my little girl has them all the time! Every time I have a Stress Test, she has them and it makes the funniest sound. My nurse and OB come in just to hear her hiccup and to check her heart. My son is 11 monthes and I sit him on my tummy so that he can feel them. He laughs and laughs. Good luck and I hope you stay cool!

Yes, new babies do have hiccups a lot. My twin girls had them constantly, They just get too much air into their lungs from crying or having their mouth open.

You can use this item call Gripe Water or just give your baby regular water.

Here is the website for Gripe Water. You can get this at almost any drug store.

It's not the formula and there is nothing wrong with your baby. It's very natural for babies to get the hiccups that frequently and it is not bothersome to them. I wouldn't wory about it. Your baby will eventually grow out of it.

It's normal. My poor little guy gets them 6-7 times a day usually. I just offer him a small drink of formula(or breastmilk) and they go away. Most of the time, they don't really bother him, but when he gets the bad ones (the ones where you suck in alot of air) he gets very upset.

It is normal, she is sucking air in along with her milk when she feeds. If you breast feed, you can help by keeping light pressure on the back of her head to keep the seal tight around the nipple. If she is bottle fed you might try using the ones with bags, then make sure you squeeze a lot of air out before you give it to her

I DONT KNOW IF YOU NOTICED, BUT WHILE YOU WERE PREGNANT, DID YOU FEEL LITTLE THUMPS IN YOUR STOMACH AT CERTAIN TIMES OF THE DAY? MAINLY AFTER YOU ATE. THE BABY HAD HICCUPS THEN. IT IS VERY NORMAL FOR THE HICCUPS.

babies aren't supposed to get hiccups that often, maybe you need to talk to the doctor about changing the milk.have you tried to mix a little syrap in the bottle that normaly helps,or what they call a sugar tit. you just get a stocking and put sugar in it and wet it a little and let them suck it for a couple of min.but i would realy see a doctor about it,cause it's something in that milk that's not agreeing with the child.

My daughter got the hiccups daily as a newborn, unless she exhibits distress, I wouldn't worry about it.
