This is a very interesting question. Both big bang theory and super string theory seem to be valid arguments, although its almost if not impossible to prove it. We can only rely om available matter and phylogenetic reconstruction using the past to establish relationships, and in the case of the solar system this maybe somewhat accurate to some extent but in the case of the universe its difficult to prove due to many factors. The universe is a vast unknown place. Its mysterious and amazing to behold. We know so far how life originated from inorganic compounds yielding biochemistry processes that allowed the first organisms to exist and evolve, yet we haven't observed any trace of intelligent beings that resemble us, in the near proximity of the milky way. The components that are required in order for life to exist are very specific, both in space and time, that's why some people say we are alone in the universe. Since we don't know whats out there its a little precipitated to jump to that conclusion but theres nothing out there containing knowledge that could help. What about if there are more universes out there (I always have imagined this) or maybe parallel ones that differ in time and reality? Physics are still not well developed to understand why certain planetary proceses occur, for example why does earth changes its gravitational field to opposite directions, let alone understand the origin of something we may have an idea of, but that we don't quite know yet.

I am not religious. But I do believe that something created the universe. I simply don't think it's realistic to believe that something was created out of nothing. I really don't.
Yet, scientists believe that energy cannot be created nor destroyed... so how would something "create" the world and how would that "thing" even exist to create it if energy has always been here.
All in all, I don't think that any theory can really hold up to the skepticism and the search for knowledge of the human race.
As for your sarcastic alien comment - lol - even that being said... if it were true, where would the aliens come from!? And would that make Aliens our "god"? Hmmmmmm!!! :)
Lots to think about - no time to waste!

Wait, the superstring theory of creation is supports the Big Bang Theory, does it not?
Think about it this way, the earth must have some beginning, or otherwise it would be an infinite series, but what if it is an infinite series? Of course, that would raise the question on how could we be here, if it did not start anywhere. That is how our number system works though, infinite either way of zero. good question though

Well we did have to get here some how, so i believe after the earth and some animals and organisms were created, the human body was created after a period of time. We then spread out among the pangea, there for having the first people in america, etc. Humans have been on this earth for more then 33,000 years...for animals...another story.

I would say race of aliens, but then I would feel like I needed
to explain where they came from.
Probably some kind of super collision of energy - or is that
the superstring theory?

Maybe the universe never had an actual beginning. Time is something that we created, and to be perfectly honest... the concept of time doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I think the universe and it's origins are outside of time where there is no beginning, and there is no end.... it just is.

I'm not sure what I believe anymore. I can't just believe the big bang theory because the galaxy is frickin HUGE! It couldnt have just happened like that. And I'm not sure about religion either. I just don't think about these type of things, because it gets me thinking about things (religion, aliens, meaning of life, death, etc etc)

a variation of the big bang. All the matter and antimatter at opposite ends of the universe and went speeding to each other
and crashed into each other, thus the bang.BTW,each was only the size of a pin point.Makes as much sense as anything else.
