They SHOULD be a thing of the past. I'm not sure what use Queen Elizabeth is other than just a figurehead of an outdated governmental system.

There is a monarchy it is called the B U S H crime family. And no there is no place for it in the modern world. They are destroying the modern world.

Aren't we currently living in a Monarchy? I thought King H.W. Bush handed over the American Kingdom to his son and new King Prince W. Bush who may be followed by Prince Jeb Bush?

The Saudi Arabian kingdom is going strong and they keep the relative peace but monarchies are totolitarian in nature so I can't see how they could be any good in the past, present or future.

America is a good example. We have the Bush family and we have the Clinton family. If Hillary gets elected next prez that will make 20 years of nothing but Bushes and Clintons. 24 if she gets elected for a second term. If that's not a monarchy what is?

They might be making a come back. George Bush thinks God selected him to be president. I have heard man on the street interviews in which other people believe God selected him.

That is odd to me because Americans fought the Revolutionary War to free themselves from the Divine succession of kings. But, I guess some people are yearning for the good old days.

They certainly exist in the contemporary world, but I don't think they are useful to any truly "modern" world.

They still exist, Communism is close, as I understand it the Bible teaches there shall be one more.
