What is a fast method of getting a pay raise from an employer without saying I need more money?

I work directly under CEO in a web development company as a director of development.

WORK hard, study what they tell you, but also whatis important. be better and better every day, show your determination, ask questions to learn, be positive, get to work early and always be honest.

Get the facts about the wages paid other people in your position (taking into account the size of the company, responsibilities, direct reports, region, etc.), go in armed with your latest performance appraisal (if they don't do this, ask them to so you know how your performance is measured) AND if you are really deserving of a raise - ASK!
And if they say no, and your feel your pay assessment is accurate, and you job is in demand, then leave for another job that gives you what you want.
