i just wondering. if semen in the vagina or the hormones during intercourse can cause/induce labor.

Not sure exactly what information you are asking about. Since most women don't know 100% the exact time and day of going into labor, then i would defiantly expect that number to be quite high. Personally i cant remember if i had sex right before labor or not. Does it matter? No! In fact it can help. Semen can help with the ripening of the cervix to facilitate dilation. Or maybe you were asking about how many women had sex within 24 hours AFTER delivery. That would not be very smart at all!

You never want to have sex right after delivery. A woman's cervix is still dilated and you can have some SERIOUS problems if you had sex that soon after. It's best to wait until all bleeding stops, that way you know that your cervix has closed by then. Wait until after your 6 week check-up with OB.
