The word" searching" in your sentence is not the apt word . You have to search for a better word to describe your predicament!
When you are not sure what you are looking for , it also clearly implies that you are SURE that you are NOT looking for anything particular. This, then , would amount to wandering in search of.
Nine of ten situations this would mean that you are not happy with what you are doing /feeling now and that you would do with something better. But, that something is not clear. Actually, if you look well the answer will be hidden in the question itself.
what we are all looking for is happiness. That is it. But that happiness is not a thing but a feeling. Something that is not physical but felt. A search for a physical shaped happiness deose not exist.!
You are searching for Happiness and that is for sure. How do you find it? Only lookimng internally for the right answer.

When we have some spare money, and happen to stray into a large shopping complex, attracted by its appearance, ads, discount offers, etc, we have this experience....
"We search for something to buy, and come to know exactly what it was only when we decide to buy it ".
There are a few people who end up into spirituality just like this ! They do not know what they were seeking, why etc.... and when they get a bit deeper, have a little glimpse, a little experience, they are amused to look back and smile at at their own minds , the way it felt, when they started this search !

Be sure first with your mind if it is capable of searching something you don't know. If your mind understood that what you are searching is not in your mind then find out if your mind can break its boundary and look beyond knowledge. A puzzle.

Know exactly what you are searching for, and the answers will come naturally. Or just go with the flow and see what turns up.

From my experience I've found this biblical principle to be very effective and practical : Seek and you shall find. But it doesn't end here. You shall find something. Then you have to knock and the door will open to you. This means you need to work on it for something to happen. Like if you are seeking for a person to help you, when you find that person you will need to knock on his heart and maybe you'll get a chance. Then, the next thing is important ... you ask and it shall be given to you. Same way when you are looking for a place or thing, you need to seek it, knock on the people who can lead lead you to the place or thing, and then ask people to help you obtain it.

Look in the mirror and see the spark of life within you. Then notice every living thing shares a small part of that same life with you. Stare into a blue star, watch a grasshopper hop, a fish swim. Dance and celebrate!
There is no final answer. There is only experience. :)

Begin to get quiet, and soon, your search will be over. You will have found peace at last within.

Stop looking. In Zen buddhism, the most important step in finding the bull is realizing that it was never lost.
