I keep making bad joke questions with limited international familiarity as to their bases (which are often obscure)? I'm just asking.

See, it depends how the other side feels. Making fun is like a Home run Derby, you need make it hit in the right spot everytime and if you don't do that, the other side might feel bad. Hence, making fun and making jokes is ok(infact good) as long as its healthy and doesn't create any negative vibes between the two parties, but once it starts in the latter way, it can go bad. So, next time, make jokes but also check out the reaction of the other party.

When you joke do so about things your familiar with. It makes for a better joke.
