Company A rents copiers for a monthly charge of $200 plus 8 cents per copy. Company B rents copiers for a monthly charge of $400 plus 4 cents per copy. What is the number of copies above which Company A's charges are the higher of the two?

for B)$400 + $.04X
put in all the answer choices in both Xs, see which is correct.

For company A, it is $200 + $.08x
For company B, it is $400 + $.04x
So simply solve.
For a, company a:5100x$.08= $410+$200= $610
For a, company b:5100x$.04=$205+$400= $605
Company A costs more money after the 5100 mark but since 5000 copies is pretty close, lets try that.
For c, company a:5000x$.08=$400+200=$600
For c, company b:5000x$.04=$200+400=$600
Wow. For c, it is the same. So actually after the 5000 mark it costs more. Therefore, your answer should be: A or C.
