yeah i live in australia and one of the banks Commonwealth Bank has this program where you can just select roughly what you would spend in a week, fortnight, monthly, yearly and your salary and it works out what you can save and how much you have potential of saving if you stick to it.

Quicken or MS Money will help. I've used both and find that Quicken is the better product.
