I dunno about other women, but I have felt a zillion times healthier since I became pregnant. Maybe because I am trying harder to eat healthy and stuff. I feel better about myself too, because I am bringing a child in the world (with my husbands help). I like being pregnant.

Since everyone is different, this is too general a question to answer. Some women have a very difficult time during pregnancy, others just seem to "glow" for nine months. Many factors will play into the general healthiness including age, dietary habits, drug habits, health before becoming pregnant, etc. There are certain conditions that present themselves during pregnancy that may or may not stay with the mom afterwards such as pregnancy diabetes or pregnancy gingivitis.
I was fortunate enough to be completely healthy and happy during all three of my pregnancies, even having my last child at the age of 39.
However, it's not for everyone. Best advise is to speak to a trusted physician, eat healthy for the sake of the baby, get lots of rest and take good care of yourself!

Actually I am pretty sure being pregnant is hell on a womans health. I know my mom developed diabetes while pregnant with my younger brothers, the type that just comes with pregnancy. Not only that, but you have the other health problems associated with the weight gain, back problems, etc...so no...

Im not sure, the only thing I have heard is that breastfeeding lessens the chances of breast cancer. If you do it before the age of 30 that is. But that is all I have heard about it.

I heard it's healthier to get a dog. But I don't think so...pregnancy causes all types of disruption of hormones, during it, the brain shrinks, and afterwards can affect your mental state. That aside from all the physical problems it can cause...But it can be healthy for the soul :)

Sometimes it isn't. Back in the old days, pregnancy could kill a woman, especially if she was giving birth.

Not mine! Having a child made my health worse. I stress out all day everyday, and she's driving me insane. I think having a child was the worst thing I could ever do.

NO PREGNANCY IS HEALTHY. IT IS ACTUALLY UNHEALTHY TO THE BODY THAT IS WHY YOU MUST TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF DURING THIS TIME.
