Funny, you ask that as a general question. I would have to say, No. He was elected the first time because of some real odd election maneuvering, and he was not Clinton. A portion of the public were weary of the constant scandal of Clinton. They felt that a conservative would approach the office with more respect and wisdom (I guess we were wrong in Bush's case). The second win was not as big a mandate as the people are lead to believe (50.7% of the vote is not exactly a Republican landslide). He ran on his war record. I can't exactly say he lied to get elected, but nothing he has done in office has panned out as was expected. This is a very good question. Has to make one pause and ponder it.

Absolutely not. Bush got elected because the American public felt that they would be better protected with him than with Kerry. They think that Republicans are better at dealing with terrorists than Democrats are. In this case the public was right.

If Al Gore have been President on August 6, 2001, he, extremely than Bush, could have gained that memo titled "Bin encumbered desperate to attack interior U.S." And, in assessment to Bush, he could have definitely examine it. And understood it -- additionally in assessment to Bush. this would not propose the 9/11 assaults could have been prevented, whether it may've given us a much extra effective shot. yet permit's think they weren't. extremely of "genuinely every physique status in the back of our President in this time of disaster," Republicans like Tom postpone could in all probability have tried to question Gore for "failing to guard united statesa.." one among those stream could have failed, by way of fact there are nonetheless sufficient respectable Republicans who could have recoiled at such partisanship. Gore could have finished the interest in Afghanistan. Osama bin encumbered could be ineffective -- the two on-internet site, or convicted and accomplished by using now. i don't comprehend what Gore could have finished with Iraq, yet he would not have thrown away hundreds of yank lives. nonetheless, he wasn't an oilman, and Saddam Hussein did not attempt to kill Senator Albert Gore Sr. of direction, if Gore have been re-elected in 2004, probability is the President right this moment would not be Barack Obama. It in all probability would not be Gore's vice chairman, Joe Lieberman, the two: he's in basic terms too conservative to win Democratic primaries. according to probability Hillary Clinton could've gained. or maybe McCain could've gained. or maybe McCain could've crushed Gore in 2004, wherein case Obama could've crushed McCain in 2008. yet this usa could be much extra effective off now, and safer, with Gore as President from January 20, 2001 to January 20, 2009... or in spite of McCain as President from a million/20/05 to a million/20/09.
