In Cornelius Pass Roadhouse in Oregon the restaurant used to be a house of a rich family, and is haunted by the kids and their Cat don't know any of the names . STORY: (how it became haunted,:P) The children were playing it the Bedroom with a ball, the ball bounced down the stairs, into the basement. The cat was sleeping on the stairs, the girl ran after the ball, tripped on the stairs and broke he neck and died, a couple weeks later the boy was playing with the ball, bounced down the stairs. He tripped on the cat but survived. Later that night he heard footsteps coming up the stairs. The next day he went looking for the ball. As he was standing on the top of the stairs, the girls ghost shoved him and he died, well first he landed on the kitty and killed it and THEN he died. The parents were of course very sad. The next day the quickly moved out cause they kept seeing their children.
And if you listen carefully you can still hear the ball bouncing and the girls footsteps.
The end

Yeah. In San Diego, CA, we have what is called the Whaley House. I've been in there once when I was 11 (I'm 25 now) and it freaked me out a little but I didn't see any ghosts. However, some visitors claim they have seen ghosts in the Whaley House. I really don't believe in ghosts at all, though.

I am enclosing a link that has more info. Apparently, a criminal was hanged on the property back in the mid 19th century and some people still see his ghost haunting the house. If you ever get a chance to come to San Diego, the Whaley House is located in Old Town, one of SD's historic sites.

P.S. To update on what Lami said, the Hotel Del Coronado is also reportedly haunted but I believe it's one specific room, not the hotel itself. Check that out too if you come here. A Marilyn Monrone film was shot there ("Some Like it Hot").

There is a store with a house next to it in Kodak TN that they say is haunted. Last month I stopped in to buy a drink and the owner was telling me the store is haunted by an Indian Chief. He turns the lights and fryers on and off, one of the girls that works there said he would call her name every once and awhile. They said the house next door is haunted by a little boy. Supposedly the path from the Trail of Tears crossed over that site.

The Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego is supposedly haunted. In 1892, Kate Morgan from Iowa checked into the hotel, she was found on the steps leading to the beach 5 days after checking in. Lots of people continued to see her ghost after her death. OOhhhh spooky!!!!
