It was a purposeful choice. After 9/11 the administration was already planning on moivng into Iraq. If we are in Iraq purely to give the Iraqi people democracy why are we not giving a so called democracy to any other countries. What about Darfur.....oh wait we don't have an interest in controlling oil in the Sudan. We have repeatedly ignored pleas of help from the UN and the African Union for help in Darfur. Lets all be honest with each other, this war is a sham, we are all responsible for what is going on in Iraq. We elected the people that allowed and continue to look the other way as things get worse and worse in Iraq. Both Republicans and Democrats have failed us.

67% of the Iraqi people on Govt assistasnce for food with Saddam in power...less with potable water? Genocide of kurds? Besides the war going on....which is expensive...Look at the facts, whats the deficit compared to two years ago? We have more FULL time jobs than the Clinton admin had during the dot.com boom. I DO suggest a great read though....you will like it and learn alot about things over in Iraq, Now, and then.
Have a nice day
The insurgency is going to be pumped up due to November elections in a vain attempt to try and get American support against the war. But we can see whats happening daily. The insurgency, however, is aimed mainly at innocent people, like today, with the kidnapping of teenagers, and children, and killing of innocent people trying to run a press station>>> (of ALL sects of religion within that country-that were killed within this press related killing)-which will only deepen not only the peoples of iraqs resentment at their freedoms, and safety being taken away, remember their Vice president has already lost three siblings-BUT-from VERY good sources, the total of iraqi deaths stands at about 50,000....but still, how? And by whom? The peace that will be given effort at maintaining in Iraq, and building infrastructure and economy will only pick up, enliven, and excite, not only the iraqi people to keep standing up for a MUCH better life than they had under Saddams reign, but also, Iran, we will leave alone (outside of fighting off sent terrorists of the innocent, that they wish to control)-and soon too, it is my belief, and an Irani friend of mines, that the younger irani generation will want the same growth and freedoms that will slowly but surely seep into Iraq.
Also, an extremely good book to find out what is REALLY going on over there, and was, is "See No Evil" by Robert Baer....ex CIA

Saddam was the biggest enemy to Sunni Kurds, Shiite South & Al Qaida. And to anyone who can challenge to his dictatorship. Initially Saddam was a Socialist. After getting over power became a mad cruel dictator. He would never allow to be removed by Extremist of Al Qaida same like today current Saudi Kings will hang (if get a chance) each and every Al Qaida devoted member. They will do this for not to please the world or BushCo but to save their Kingship and rule.
First Iraq war made out cry in Muslim world generally and in extreme groups specifically which propelled Al Qaida from a mixed organization of extremism & terrorism to full-fledged terrorism entity.
The first Iraq war generated a lot of talks of revival of Crusader in Muslim world. Our administrator has launch second war on Iraq to have undisturbed supply of enemy combatant around the world around the clock instead of fixing up one mess at a time in Afghanistan.

I could write a book on all the mistakes Bush has made but somebody already beat me to it. It's called "State of Denial". It's the # 1 best seller. Read and learn (and laugh). If the subject weren't so serious I'd tell you it's the best comedy I've ever read which really makes it all the more sad.

The war in Iraq is a royal screw up on so many levels. I don't think we can blame Bush entirely...well mostly :) But you can't blame me...I didn't vote for him.

It has made him and his daddy and their cronies lots of big bucks, so, from the greed aspect he has done a good job for himself, his Daddy and their cronies only.
As for the real America - he has screwed us over royally.

Hell no man. People say to me all the time that they didnt ask us to go over there... man if you see a person getting jumped on the street do you have to be asked to help them... no... you go kick the butt of who ever is hurting them. Same thing man. The people in Iraq were being hurt... we went to help. It was the right thing to do!
