The tv i have is an old combination vcr/tv that isn't connected to an aerial. I don't want the tv to be tuned into any tv channels for now but would like to know if i was to buy a freeview box in future would this be acceptable to receive a digital signal? the tv at the moment has a playstation 2 attached to it so the tv can be used to watch dvds, videos and to play games on. When the big digital switch over occurs will i still be able to have the set up i have already because it isn't affected by the digital/analogue signal? ...thank you for any answers/advice/tips you might offer =)

If it is not plugged in to an aerial then the changeover will have no affect.
If you do wish to watch or record programmes on that set, you will need to buy a freeview box after the change date.

Yep your old tv will suffice nicely :)

As long as it has the right cable to connect it with a freeview boxset (which it must have if you already hook up a ps2 to it) then it will work fine. The only problem you might encounter would be lack of a signal but that's what the whole digital switchover thing is supposed to change - everywhere will have 100% signal strength by that time!

the freeview box or the free-sat box will enable you to watch digital programmes with no probs, but it wont be available nationwide until next year (2007) when the whole country is supposed to go digital, like freeview isnt available in all areas yet.

Should be alright for these purposes. You could always ring freeview to double check though.
