I am an okay at layups and dribbling with my left hand. When it comes to the game I always drift to my right hand. I never shoot a left handed layup when I post up during a game. What can I do

Its not a medical concern- I hope- its just that even though I can do layups with my right, I can't transfer that practice in a game

I play basketball, but soccer is my main sport. I wanted to bring more element to my game, so I decided to strengthen my left foot. Basically, all the practicing you do with your RIGHT hand (or foot, in my case), you have to work on with your left hand. Perhaps even more. Practice outside every day and just use your left hand more than usual. Slowly but surely, it will strengthen, and you will have almost equal skill on both sides. You have to be patient and practice a lot though, and MAKE SURE to not skimp on the left hand usage, ever. Use it more than your right hand, at least 10% more. Good luck!

Are you right-handed? Ambidextrous? If not, that sounds normal to me.But I don't play basketball. Word of caution- any one-sided body thing that is suddenly new or different should be evaluated by a Dr. to rule out brain tumors, etc. Sounds drastic, but my Friend's 5 year old displayed very subtle symptoms with turning his head ever so slightly to the left, etc. until it progressed to him not using his right hand so much, etc. By the time the Dr. checked into it, he had a life-threatening tumor removed & will never be the same. Any changes in sensory-motor, vision, etc. should be given medical attention.
