You can approach poker from one of two ways; recreationally and just play for fun or you can play seriously and treat it like a business. For those of us who make our living or a substantial second income playing poker it is very serious business indeed. We keep meticulous records, analyze every move and do strategic planning. Just like any other business we try to maximize our profits and minimize our expenses. Of course in poker you can't control your luck or how the cards come out but then again that applies to other business as well.

You definitely should consider poker (played skillfully) to be investment, not gambling. I too make my living online and run Internet poker's only religion, the Church of Texas Holdem!
