Not mine. Though I don't shy away from math. I've just finished my MBA and did very well in math related courses (accountancy, finance) even though I hate math.

There's a minority who like math and have it as their favourite subject. But only a minority. Math makes you think, and people don't like to think, they prefer the easy way.

As for Halloween the only connection I could think of is to explain an equation with pumpkins instead of the usual apples and oranges.

Math is my favorite past time. Since is in everything, in terms of Halloween, you can think of the following:

1. size of customes

2. Year when Halloween started

3. How many kids go trick or treating every year

How about Halloween math questions?

LOOK:

1. There are 12 witches and 34 vampires. How many witches and vampires are there in all?

There were 15 mummies in the haunted house garden.
57 more came into the garden.
How many are in all?

I hope this helps.
Guido

Hi:

I do enjoy math, it all around us. Nature and men uses it, and it runs the world and shapes the world as well and any one can learn it and use it . Doesn't matter young or old. and it a advenure to be found.

In fact I remember a math teacher who read a story about how the leopard got it spots to his little girl out of a book; and years later she ask how they really got their spots and in the process of finding out; he discovered that the spots are of fractal nature and the patterns are unique to each animal. in fact Math as quite a lot of stories to tell and it turns up in some interesting places, For thousand years, men as stuggled with it and sloved them and history was made by it . I've found various way to calulate square roots and found both remarkable and useful. and trigometery I've found quite interesting, Geometery too. So start a advenure of your own

If you like solving puzzles, you will like math. It's fun. As a bonus, math holds the answer to almost everything in the universe.

For Halloween, estimate how many trick or treaters you will have, figure how much candy to buy, and how much it will cost per kid.

I use math every day through my occupation & enjoy & appreciate it much more than when I was a student. I never would have guessed as a young person how it could be so much fun to help others with their algebra!

For holloween you could go as a numeral, say, a fraction? Binomial? Prime number? Hmmmm...

;-)

I actually do enjoy math. However, liking math is generally equated with being a nerd. . . but I still do. I've always liked working with numbers and formulas and stuff.

I sucked at math, not very good and hardly understood it. I would compare it to hearing Freddy Kruegers nails going down a black board.
