Try suggesting they go talk to someone. A professional will be able to diagnose them.....don't try to do it on your own, especially if you are not completely sure they are bipolar....labels can be very damaging!

My mother is bipolar, we tried to tell her and she didn't listen. It's hard to tell someone you think they're bipolar without them becoming defensive. It really depends on how sick the person really is. If they're chronic they will fight you and tell you you're the crazy one. The best thing to do is to suggest seeing a psychologist and if they're against it, tell them you'll go with them. If they don't agree to go, talk to a psychologist yourself and they'll tell you how to handle the situation.

don't assume this diagnosis. this is a very serious condition and if you are truelly in love then suggest a doctors visit or check up. If the subject is touchy then notify the doctor personally and give a heads up they will be able to confirm with out causing bells and whistles to go off.

It's never right to diagnose someone yourself and then tell them what you think - you need to tell them that you have some concerns about their mental health and behavior and that you would support them in trying to go see someone to find out what the problem is.

I think I would just ask them if they have ever wondered if their constant ups and downs might be something more serious than just the ups and downs of life. Let them respond and then if they seem open to listen, tell them about your concerns and explain that it might be worth researching online. Just my two cents! Good luck!

I guess that would depend on your relationship. Do you have an honest/open relationship? Are you able to tell him anything? If you answered yes, then I say go for it... straight to the point!
Always helps to start out with "You know I love you..."

Just tell them. I am and I know it. I see it. LoL if you love them and they love you, they will understand that you are helping them, not making fun of them. Good luck, and tell them soon, so they can get the proper treatment.

Well unless they've been diagnosed as such you don't, not unless you're a doctor/expert in that field.

Tell them them that you are concerned with their emotions and that you will be there if they need help.
