Why is everyquestion so political here?

i HAVE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER MET ME CALLING ME LIBERAL WACKO OR REPUBLICAN IDIOT. I am not even american. I am asking simple questions looking for intelligent debate. This is worse then two four year olds argueing over whos father can beat them up. Neither side makes much sense. You just read what you want to see. And you all wonder why your country is so divided.

Roy you are retarded. Canada is a democracy you tool.

I know its the politics section, but many people don't debate the policies just throw the insults without even reading the question.

First off... your Caps Lock appears to be stuck on. Please be so kind as to turn it off.

Secondly, I'm surprised the american education system is so lax that you would not know that Canada (you know, that big country the the North of you?) is a Democracy, and is actually more of one then the states! You think you can argue with your government without reprisal? Think again, buddy. Think again.

Just don't come crying to us when you get screwed out of your freedoms while the american populace is sleeping at the wheel.

We don't wonder why. We know. And this is the first question I've ever seen by you, so I really don't know about the name-calling you've endured... Intelligent debate is possible here if you answer the sincere, thoughtful questions (and there are a few) which are typically by people who don't compulsively post. The same goes with asking -if you're asking fair, unbiased questions you're much more likely to get respectful responses. Also keep in mind that many of the more vocal members are only wanting their opinions reinforced, not challenged. So if you present an opposing viewpoint to those kinds, you're going to get slammed -it's a given. But if you don't like it, don't do it.

Our country is actually supposed to be that way. We have different categories for our political views to help elect the people that we want to represent our views. Whether or not our views get put in is what we're going for. Just think, if we didn't have republicans, democrats, liberals, conservatives, etc....then we'd have a horrible country! Views would be based on how one person feels and we wouldn't be represented accurately.
That IS how politics should work. For people that get aggressive with the issues and start that petty name-calling have their own issues for incorrectly debating. I mean, if you want to change a person's view you don't do it by harrassing them.
Other than that, it is good for our country to have different beliefs that we can express FREELY! =)

That is why they are being debated all the time.

They call you a liberal wackop or republican idot based offtheir theories and what you stated.
