can someone explain how the college board is scoring the SAT with the new writing section added? What was the scoring like when the wriiting section wasn't added? (when the highest you can score was 1600)

Old way:
800-Verbal
800-Math

New way:
800-Verbal
800-Math
800-Writing
Highest here is 2400.

Now the highest is 2400. It is the standard test now. You have to take the writing or the subject test. Each section, math, critical thinking and grammar, and the essay, are worth 800 points. The essay is usuall the easiest section.

It's out of 2400 now. I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:
