He was right.
The more you try to "understand" us, the more wily we become.
Women's brains work differently, we use both hemispheres all the time, we're more run by emotions than men, we think about what other people are thinking and feeling, and we *hate* having to explain things to men. We expect you to just know the things we want you to know, but we'll be irritated and suspicious if you know everything. We want men to anticipate the things we expect them to remember, we hate having to remember everything for everyone. We hate having to do everything for everyone.
We expect you to know what's wrong, without having to tell you. It's dumb, but it's how we work. We get upset that you don't know that we're upset or why.
Men communicate in plain verbal language, women communicate in a series of subliminal gestures and tones, emotional tones that men can't hear, coded language, sighs and silence.
Never believe a woman when she says "I'm fine" or "no, what would be wrong?" it means, "I want you to work it out for yourself and fix it, but I'm not going to tell you how or why." I reckon women write the instructions for those self-assemble furniture items at Ikea...
Just remember, that women think the same thing with men, "what is it with men" they'll say. Just enjoy your women and care for them, don't try to decode them, that's when things get messy and arguments begin. Plus, she'll outwit you -somehow-, you'll definitely end up 'in the wrong' and it will all end in tears.

[Women also forgive quite easily too. She'll probably forgive you or open up and let it go if you just sit with her on the couch, rub her feet and tell her you love her. Compliments always work too. But remember, a woman can smell insincerity a nation away, do not say anything nice that you do not mean, or you will pay, oh how you will pay).

My friend, you will never understand women. I was raised by one for sixteen years and spent the next 40 studying 'em, and I'm still mystifyed. Don't try "reading between the lines" cause you'll be wrong every time. That can be expensive. You can lose all your stuff. And all the stuff you'll ever make for the next 18 years. Bottom line, most women are looking for a sperm donor and a paycheck. Father one or more of their rugrats and then get the hell out. Just keep them support payments coming in. Girls are taught in school that having a father around for their children is probably a bad thing and they can do just fine on their own, as long as he keeps paying. I've escaped that trap but I've seen a lot of good men shot down in flames. Fortunately, I'm at that age where women have stopped looking at me as Daddy material, but it was a close thing there for awhile...Be careful!
