Ones that would be instantly recognizable to most people...
1) Marylin Monroe from 'Some Like it Hot'
2) James Dean from 'Rebel without a Cause'
3) Any Elvis get-up
4) Humphrey Bogart from 'Casablanca' (trench and fidora)
5) Charlie Chaplan's 'Little Tramp' character
6) (if you can get two others to go along w/it) Larry, Curly, and Moe
I can think of others, but they'd be more obscure and you'd probably have to explain your costume. These ones though I think most people would get right away.
- Thought of another one: Get a generic Gorilla Suit, carry a model of the Empire State Bldg in one hand and a Blonde Barbie doll in the other - Instant King Kong :)

I'm much more for the mind-thrillers, less on the gross-fest movies... A few less well known creepy movies - The Changeling - w/ George C. Scott The Haunting - only the old one! Val Lewton movies - Cat People, Leapord Man For newer movies - 30 Days of Night - in theaters right now High Tension - OK, a gross-fest, but so scary! There are subtitles, which bug some poor souls Ginger Snaps - the first of the series is the best May Hopefully there are some new titles there for you...Good Luck getting scared!
