What's bad about it? I shave above the knee all year long, although I know women who only shave that high in the summer when they wear shorts and swimsuits.

No. It is not bad and it is not true either that you will always have to once you start. I shaved my thighs and arms since I was 10.......... I stopped when I was 17 or 18... 2 years later, you cant tell that I ever shaved my arms or thighs in the first place. My hairs are light colored like it always has been and is NOT thick. Shaving does not change the texture of the hairs or color. It only makes them "stubbly" temporarily, because of them being bluntly cut by the razor (causing the ends to feel prickily) until that hair falls out from the follicle where a new one will grow that has never been shaved before.

It is not bad.
Some people don't do it, because it's really difficult to get all the spots without missing something or cutting yourself pretty badly - I know I've done both.
My sister doesn't do it because the hair is pale and thin and doesn't really do much, and her husband DEFINITELY doesn't mind (I spent a month on their couch - I would know). I shave my thighs when I have time, but if I don't, I just go about three inches above my knees and ignore the rest.
It really depends on the woman. But no, it's not bad to shave the upper parts of your legs. It's your preference. Don't worry about your friend.

Well, I have blonde fine hair - and to be honest I really don't have to shave my thighs. The hair cannot be seen or felt. I think if you have dark long thick hair on your thighs maybe you should shave it. I think it depends if the sight of the hair on your thighs bothers you or not. But, if you do shave your thighs you have to deal with your whole leg being picky with stubble rather than just the part below the knees.

Well, it is only bad in the way that if you start doing it now, you'll always have to do it. The hair that is there now is soft and downy, but once you shave it, it will grow back stubbly and you'll never be able to not shave it anymore.

It's not bad....it'll just make the hair grow back thicker.....so if you were abel to get away with not shaving your upper thighs before, it'll pry be noticable now and you'll have to keep shaving....that's all

it's not bad but you need a good razor cause you might get little itchy red pimples (rashy like) because of the razor but that depends on your skin just do it it dosent matter
