I DONT WEAR THONGS I WEAR STRING BIKINI'S IM 14 AND I DONT SEE THE SENSE OF A THONG!!!!AND WELL FIRST OFF I HOPE YOUR NOT JUST WEARING THEM TO GET BOYS ATTENTION OR JUST BECAUSE YOUR FRIENDS ARE WEARING THEM..IT SHOULD BE YOUR DECISION...I THINK THEY ARE JUST GROSS THEY FEEL AWFUL WHY WOULD YOU WANT SOMETHING STUCK IN YOUR BUTT EVERYDAY??BUT WHATEVER THATS YOUR BUSINESS. YOU COULD TRY STRING BIKINI'S THOSE ARE GOOD BUT IF YOU WANT TO WEAR A THONG TELL YOUR MOM THAT YOU DONT WANT THE PANTY LINE TO SHOW OR THAT A PAIR OF PANTS THAT YOU HAVE IS KIND OF THIN AND YOUR UNDERWEAR SHOWS.....HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.

A thong is mostly worn so you can take it right back off, if you catch my drift. Other than that, they're also used to minimize pantylines on dresses and tight pants.
I didn't get my first thong until I was 13, for the homecoming dance (I was attending a 5 year high school at the time and was in 8th grade.), and I only wore it that one time and then didn't wear another one until I was about 16 or 17, which was long after I had lost my virginity.
Fullback underwear is more comfortable anyway. Thongs tend to ride up and they ... well, let's just say things can get kind of gross sometimes. They're not all they are cracked up to be, and they don't always sit still.
For now, I'd go with what your mom wants. Ask again in a few years, like when you're 15 or 16. In the meantime, you can compromise by asking to go underwear shopping for fullback underwear and just get some with really cute and fun patterns. It's always nice to know that you've got something adorable on underneath, even if no one else can see it.

If your mom won't let you, try to wait until she's okay with it. What is your issue with wearing thongs, anyway? They can sometimes be uncomfortable, and you can even get a yeast infection from wearing them. Seriously. You seem a bit young....and I'm sure that your mother knows whats best for you. Try not to grow up so fast. You'll miss is it when you're my age. =)

In all actuality, you shouldn't wear thongs. They increase your risk for yeast infections, for one thing. And if you wear low rise or hip hugger jeans, the top will show when you sit, squat or bend attracting unwanted attention. If you want panties that don't have an ugly line, get seamless bikini underwear or tanga panties(they kinda look like boyshorts, but are way prettier). Your mom is just looking out for your best interests, I agree that you should respect her. She does provide you with a home and food...the least you can do is wear more tactful underwear until you have a job and can purchase them with YOUR money.

Hun,if your mother says that she would rather you didnt wear them,you need to respect that.You must respect your mother at all time.She cares,and that is why she doesnt want you to wear them.You must try to understand her point of view,and that she is only choosing not to allow you to wear them to protect you.If you simply want to wear them because of the whole "Panty" line purpose,then you must speak with her.Tell her the reason why you would like a thong,and that you want one because your underwear line shows through your pants.In this case,you will only need one and use it for that purpose.You will look back one day,and you will wish that your mother were here to protect you and you will wish that she was here to simply say that she loved you or to tell you what to wear.Embrace her,and embrace the time you have with her.She wont always be around when you need her.So,respect her and embrace her while she is here.Understand that she is simply doing what is best for you.Good luck.

well i guess i dont wear them very often. i do have a couple because i have a dress that i dont want underwear lines showing in the back. I guess if your mom won't let you, you could go shopping with a friend and buy one... but remember moms always find out sooner or later!

its really easy get some pants that are like white or baech and tell her that you could see the color of the underwear and that you don´t like it thats how i convice my mom and know i have more thongs than underwear.

I feel there is no need for ayoung lady to wear them. When you are older{like 18} then go ahead but for now , why? I think they make young girls seem trashy, and you are just drawing attention to your sexuallity. You should be more mature before you start to wear them. LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER, they usually know best

I just bought them anyways... tell her that there is a certain pant that you wear that shows ur underwear line and u don like it. but just to klet you know some of them arent that comfrotable anyways ur not missing anything
