We'd have peace if people were happy with their belief system, kept it to themselves and didn't try to convert anyone. Then we wouldn't have anyone discriminated against because of what a few say what the bible says, or going on holy wars, or keeping people as slaves or property because their book says it's ok. faith is good because it puts people at ease. it's when it becomes a religeon is when it becomes a social quagmire of hypocrisy, bigotry and greed.

most religions contain sets of rules to help people live in piece. this tells me that they are responses to a world that was not peaceful. Rules are not normally made or enforced about nonexistent problems. The fact that religious and political systems become corrupted is a different problem.

i think of the worldwide could be greater non violent if there have been no predators, rapists, robbers, murderers, despots, violence or unreasonable human beings. You generalize and stereo style all faith. no longer precisely sturdy precise thinking. I see what you spot, even with the undeniable fact that that's no longer all that way. I take place to appreciate that Billy Graham is a humble guy and homicide and avarice is a techniques from him. he's unusual. maximum of them crave funds and fairly some the fringe even recommend violence. yet that may no longer the way the wide-unfold public of religious human beings think of. Even Muslims are no longer all terrorists or have self belief in violence. there's a good style of evil in faith and outdoors of religion. there is a few sturdy too. and you are able to admit that a society won't be able to exist harmoniously without ethical code simple to all. Thou shalt no longer scouse borrow. Thou shalt no longer homicide. Thou shalt no longer covet your buddies sources. that would desire to maintain a society functioning continuously if human beings took those commandments to coronary heart. The greater someone governs himself, the fewer the federal government has to control. So a ethical code is intrinsic to a sturdy society. confident, there is the undesirable in faith, yet there is likewise the sturdy.

Yes and no. Yes the world would be better off, but it still wouldnt be peaceful or perfect. I think instead of putting a name to God and being ritualistic and closed-minded, we should just concentrate on teaching people morals and values. Don't steal, don't lie...etc. It'd be a lot easier.

Neither organized religion nor the absence of it secures a peaceful world, which is a much wider issue than we imagine.

No. For as many people who commit warlike acts and violence because of religion there are just as many, if not more who don't because of that same religion.
