when my Illyana (my baby girl) was having a febrile seizure. She had a temperature of 104! The seizure lasted about 10 minutes then the Medics got there and hauled her off to the hospital. They could not get the fever down. At the hospital they did all kinds of tests. It was heartbreaking, she only reacted to pain and nothing else (she did not recognize us at all just had that blank stare). They even did a spinal tap to rule out meningitis. She was transferred to another hospital, before the transfer she was given a dose of fever medicine and her fever went up on the way!
They found out that she had Influenza. Then the next day when she pulled my glasses off my face...I knew she would be okay! She was only 9 months old then. My father had passed away just two weeks before that happened and it was two days until Christmas!!

I had surgery on my neck this summer for Occipital Neuralgia. The surgeon was going to cut a hole in my vertebrae in order to slice the Occipital nerve at it's base near the spinal column. I was scared to death of this surgery, but it was also the only way to alleviate the extreme pain I was in. I was shaking in fear just before the surgery and almost chickened out.
