Tonight was probably the first time in a very long time that i was on a terrestrial channel at midnight- i knew play existed but i thought it was something that was on much later in the night...
I can't believe that basically ITV shuts down at midnight... why have ITV2, 3 4 etc if there isn't enough decent quality telly to fill up ITV1
I wouldn't mind but even the movie channels had nothing starting at midnight... all 20+ movie channels that is..
TV is diluted too much nowadays so we end up with lots of drivel... or is it that we're so spoilt for choice that we can't make decisions anymore...
Okay- i'm ranting now ...*blushes* .. sorry =/

Its all rubbish. On the SKY channels they have quiz shows for many hours as well. Don't bother calling as you never get through and you get charged just for dialling. Its usually well over one pound. Sad really. ITV lost the plot when they made that disastrous decision to bid for the football viewing rights for their digi-box ON digital. My friend lost nearly two hundred pounds when they went bust. Most companies are run by greedy, grey-suited middle-aged 'men' who generally lose touch with reality or their company product or whatever. Its the employees and consumers who ultimately pay for their mistakes. If you or I made a costly mistake at work, we would be thrown out, escorted off the premises depending on the severity of the mistake. They are on the other hand collect 'golden handshakes' which could fund a small country in the tropics. Don't waste anymore time watching ITV Play, there are plenty of other things to watch or do!

I agree with those of you who say it's exploitive and a rip of. Possibly in my view its actually illegal gambling / or an illegal lottery. A lottery ie a raffle is the distribution by lot or by chance of a prize. There is no element of skill when people phone in which is the first hurdle you have to cross, its total pot luck apparently whose phone call goes on to stage two,ie. a chance to answer. All chances in a lottery are supposed to be equal eg. every one pays the same price and should have the same opportunity - its illegal for example to sell one ticket for 10p and 6 for 50p.for the same chance at a prize, but if you notice with the so called turbo speed rounds, delaying presenter tactics etc. the doubling, trebling or dropping down of the prize values there are so many variables I just do not know how the authorities let them get away with it.It doesn't seem very equal to me. I don't understand how the so called skill in then answering a question overrides the variable pot luck hurdles that one has to overcome in the first place. I wish I had time to research it but I'm a bit rusty on that area of law and they have no doubt had an expert find a loop hole for them to allow it to continue. Perhaps we should all write in to the telecom and tv watch dog bodies to share our concerns.

I think those kind of shows should be banned! I read recently about some poor lady getting a phone bill of over £6,000 from calling in and had never got through once! Yes its a rip off and yes it exploits the vulnerable!

It is a lovely way to extract money from the under educated. Give them a question with an obvious answer and charge the plebs a pound to phone in with the answer.
What a great way to get rich off the backs of the poor.
There should be a code of conduct that would preclude this cynical theft from our screens.

I dont mind quizmania, It's inane pinkness kinda entertains me, the jumping on the bandwagon just to extract money from people by all the others drives me barmy.
If only we could vote them off somehow - start a poll and I'll back ya!

I was extremely disappointed when it started, I thought it was going to be plays, like the theatre type play, not the game type.
Yes you are right, it is exploitation, and read the small print, you are charged if you get through or not, so how many times, and for how long, do you wait?
Barefaced TV ripoff.

I play the guitar in view it somewhat is an excellent device! you need to definatley attempt and study. this is sooooo nicely worth it! on the start your palms gets very sore and tough yet it somewhat is only portion of the approach. I discovered all on my own, yet i think of having instructions could make it so plenty extra much less confusing! in case you play the Piano...you may play very practically ANY device! that's what my Uncle pronounced. He performs piano, guitar, and violin. nicely stable luck!!!!!
