A very interesting question. Lets hope for serious and knowledgable answers?
For invertebrates, it will be the mosquito worldwide. However, this is through the transmission of disease.
At a guess for a direct kill I would go for one of the venomous vipers of Africa and Asia.
In America, again a guess it could be killer bees or snakes , but alligators, bears and mountain lions kill a few people.
In England, where I live, we do not have dangerous animals. Less than one person a year dies as a result of a bee or wasp sting, one person in a century from a rabid bat bite, about the same from a Weever (small fish) sting, no records of Stingray fatalities, absolutely no shark attacks, perhaps one child a decade will be killed by the venomous Adder (= European Viper), jellyfish do not produce fatalities here, no seal attacks known to cause death around the British Isles (these are dangerous animals though by English standards, semi-accidental deaths like hippos), and that is the lot. Deer jumping out in front of motorists is just a collision, not a killer deer.

Percentage wise it would be the polar bear! The polar bear is the only land mammal that considers humans as food other than the Tiger. I don't know if you ever seen Animals Planet's "The man eating tigers of India" but it seems to be a big problem over there. But in reality: Its difficult to say. Venomous snake kill thousands every year as mentioned. Elephants have been known to kill people as well. But I do know the Polar Bear is by far the most aggressive land mammal in the world!

In America most people die from the bites of venomous snakes(especially rattlesnakes) and spiders(black widow especially).
In Europe it is mostly spiders too.
In Asia it is also snakes(especially king cobras) and second is wild elephants.
In Africa it is Hippo.
Worldwide it is many species of fly, spreading diseases through food etc which usually kills. And second to the fly is a female mosquito, spreading diseases like malaria, yellow fever, and dengue, all of which can kill.

The mosquito kills millions of people every year. It does this by transmitting the malaria virus into the bloodstream.

In the U.S., members of the deer family cause a surprisingly high number of deaths. Not by attacking, but by colliding with vehicles and causing fatal accidents. Clearly more than any other mammal.

it is the friggen skeeters, they are responsible for over 2 million deaths a year due to malaria and other diseases. i dont know of any wild animal that kills that many a year. and the leading cause of deaths by wild animals in the us i think is actually bees, but i know for sure it is not snakes. that is the problem with humans they jump to conclusions and react or speak before knowing all the details. snakes are actually a very small problem in comparison to all the insects that can kill you. mosquitos, bees, and ticks can kill you . you are more likely to come across one of them than any other animal in the world due to the fact they are so widespread ,they are simply everywhere. i dont know about you guys but i know im not going to get gored to death by a hippo,or bit by a cobra. rattlesnakes maybe, but unless you are in the middle of nowhere wihout anyway to get to an hosp. in time or a way to contact help you may die. but with bees you are more likely to have a severe allergic reaction and die. ticks carry a diseases that is uncurable so they bite you one time and if they are carrying lyme you will die from it. im not sure if the mosquito carried dieseases are incurable but i know from lack of medicle help people have died, alot of people

The mosquito and the flea( but that ancient history and not directly) because of the diseases they carry, the flea kill more people in the 12 th,13th ,and the 14th century because they carried the Black Death and there is a nursery rhythm about it:
Ring around a poise
Pocket full of poises
Ah choo, Ah choo
we all fall down
That was to tell if you got the Black Death or not
in the German word for "God bless you" . It meant to say you got a cold and not the Black Death which was a relief to know for people in their time The Black Death killed so many people in Europe that it change history read about it sometime.
The mosquito actually stop the British Empire from expanding through malaria, yellow fever, and a host of other disease in fact the Panama Canal could be built until they got rid of the mosquitoes interesting story .

It is the Female Mosquito, they are estimated to transmit disease to more than 700 million people annually, and it is estimated that they will be responsible for the deaths of about 1 in 17 people currently alive.

Venomous snakes kill about 60,000 people a year. The Saw-scaled Viper of northern Africa and the middle east kills about 20,000 people, more than any other wild animal. The Asian cobra and Russell's viper are close runner ups.
