vaio vs. mac?

which is the better laptop: sony vaio or macbook? and whats the difference, pros cons etc.?

I prefer Mac for everything, but I use it as a graphic design tool. Now that Mac uses the Intel chip, there is no interior difference. I own a Mac and my sister in law owns a Vaio, and mine runs faster and doesn't ever crash. Still, same interior. Apple offers a student discount, that might be helpful, and if you own an iPod, well, it's just a niche product that all looks good together.

In terms of virus and spyware protection, the mac is so safe it's not funny. It puts the pc to shame. HOwever... with new laptops now, you have dual core processing systems therefore you have a bigger powerful machine in the pc (anything but a mac). You may have a mac with the intel proccesor but it still does not beat the dual core system, the hyper threating, centrino 2, or any capability of having a "G force" computer graphic cards.

It matters on what you want to do. If you want to surf the net without being stopped by trojans and spyware, the mac is good for you. It has some aspects of microsoft word and so on but it does not have everything. IF you are looking for rendering software and so on, the pc does wonders.

My rationale:
I don't care because any macbook or laptop is good. I just use the laptop because i have to use 3ds max. THe latest apple macbook is equally impressive as the laptop but the dual core is the unique factor. there are some laptops with quad core (4 core) systems and they are mighty!!!! SUPER!! INsanely!!! fast!!!!!!!!!! they are prone to spyware but with this power, you can do anything...

Oo! Mac definately! They were rated the best laptops by Consumer Reoprts for a reason. I've dropped my mac laptop on hard surfaces from high places God only knows how many times and it still works very well!

Macbook. It won't break when you sit on it, and their customer care actually cares.
