ok, I need to find out how much material I need. Heres what it says:

D Costume: Bondice and skirt
45"** 1 1/4, 1 1/4, 1 1/4, 1 3/8, 1 1/2, Yd

Sleeves and Hat- 7/8 yd. 45"**

Interfacing-3/4 yd. of 22" to 36" heavyweight fusible

Wire Edged Ribbon-1 5/8 yd of 1 3/8" wide

...it says that ** means with nap. Here is what I think. I wanted to go with the smallest size so 1 1/4 yd for the skirt plus another 7/8 yd. for the sleeves. I am assuming that the material is the same for the sleeves, hat, and wire ribbon. ?? What I am most confused about is what 45"** means and what is heavyweight fusible? Is that some kind of padding or something? If it isnt then does it have to be the same as the other fabric?
I'm so lost, please help me.

45" is the width of the fabric. It's a pretty standard measurement for fabric. With nap means a fabric like courdouroy, or suede. It has a raised feel to it. Go without if you can, trust me!!!

Interfacing is what you use on the INSIDE to give body and substance to the finished product. Heavyweight will make whatever it is your making pretty stiff. Your interfacing will be black or white. Doesn't show, doesn't matter.

The wire edge ribbon is for some sort of trim on the dress. Buy the same color or a complementing color or whatever you want.

Yes, for the smallest size, 1 1/4 yard, plus 7/8 yard..........

Edited to add..........if you take your pattern to a fabric store, such as JoAnn's the ladies working will be most willing to help you decide, measure and be able to explain to you exactly what you need. :)

another edit, LOL, yes you are correct. Same amount for all sizes if that's the only listing for that category.....

The 45 means the fabric width is 45 inches. If you get fabric in that width, then the amount of material is listed for the dress size. Heavyweight fusible is iron-on interfacing. It makes the fabric stiffer and gives it body. With a nap means the fabric is a type such as velvet, that when you "brush"it with your hand, it lays a different way. Using a nap usually requires more fabric. Buy 7/8 of a yard for the sleeves and hat. The wire ribbon is another separate purchase. When you have the fabric measured, the person that cuts it should be able to answer your questions.

The previous answers are correct. One addition to "with nap": it also can mean a pattern in the fabric that goes up or down. "Without nap" means the fabric is the same up or down.

For example, imagine a fabric with flowers growing under a sunny sky. The sky is up, and the flower are down.
