Ideas...
Music. whatever relaxes you. I like Led Zeppelin at high volume. I know its wierd, but I'll fall right out.
Check your diet for anything that may be causing insomnia. All sorts of food has caffiene or you may be lacking a food that has high seratonin levels like turkey.
Try a relaxation technique.
Lie down, get comfortable. Picture your body as a glass container. Inside your container is dirt, smoke, and other disgusting crap. This stuff is all the things that happened to you today. Now picture your container/body filling with warm sudsy water. The bubbles are doing their little 'scrubbing bubbles' bit like the commercial. Once your container/body is full, let it soak for as long as you need to get it all cleaned. Then let the water drain out and you'll see your body clean and renewed, free from all the days crap. Try not to choose a fill and drain point that cracks you up too much 'cause it kinda wrecks the whole peaceful, serene thing.
If all else fails, take drugs. Any drugs that you like. For years I kept a one hitter bedside for a little nightcap toke. Excedrin or Tylonol PMs work well. As do Nyquil, one of my favorites.
You could always try warm milk, but it doesn't really work, its more a psychological thing.
Get a bedtime routine established and stick to it.
Or get more drugs.

Definitely. Actually menopause begins in our late 30s or early 40s, but symptoms don't show sometimes till much later. Do you have night sweats?
