probably old age. maybe try a dif food, and possibly a smaller bowl (depending on the size he's in). i prefer keeping my bettas in larger bowls since it's better for them, but as one of them got older he had difficulty swimming up to get air/food, so i put him a 1/4 gallon bowl and he lived another year.

You might want to check the water temp or clean his water. My betta had been laying down in the bottom and under his little house for a week or so. I keep feeding him and he wouldnt eat. I decided to change his water and put alittle extra water safe in the tank and then like the next night he was good as new. Hes got his appite back and is swimming around and playing with the goldfish again.

Oto catfish,or a small Pleco, 4 small tetras alongside with neons or cardinals, some Rasboras, fancy mollies some White Cloud Mountain Fish, Corydoras, significant Danios. of those you ought to %. a finished of 5. i might want to contain a million catfish. and both 2 and a pair of or all 4 of smaller training fish. 4 corys.make a exceptionally busy tank. you would possibly want to do 2 and three White Clouds or Tetras. Then the Betta will nevertheless be truly dominant. i might want to have some pants, and a minimum of one million hiding rock for catfish..

Try changing the water constantly using overnight water to best suit a sick fish. Do not feed too much. Get brown dry leaves from aquarium shop and put a small portion of the leaves into the tank whenever you change water. This type of leaves help to cure sick fish by killing water bacterias. Rising the tank water a bit will help the beta to be more active.

He's lonely, you need to get him another fish for Joes' sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He needs a fishy friend like now, dude. Since he is a betta, of course they will need to live in separate domiciles, but preferably close enough to wave their fins at each other and chat about the humans who don't breathe underwater and who live in brick tanks with furry floors.

The water is too cold....adjust temperature to about 78-80. They live in very shallow puddles. If you have him in a bowl...put bowl on top of refrigerator...heat of the compressor will keep him warm...if ina na aquarium...adjust heater or you'll need to buy one...

What are you feeding him? My betta won't eat flakes or pellets. The only thing he will eat - yuk - blood worms.
