I would advise that you tell the truth. If you don't, be prepared to be invited over and over again.

Tell them you have other plans. You don't have to say what they are. Anything can be "other" plans.
I typically like to be straight forward and tell people "Thank you for the invitation, but I don't think we'll be able to make it". It's really none of their business to pry or pressure.
Just from my experience...be open to exploring new stuff though, sometimes my husband and I have fun going to something we didn't think we'd like at first.

Tell them that you just don't feel comfortable in that kind of environment right now and you would rather wait til you feel more at ease and know more people from the congregation.

Just tell them that for personal reasons, that you cannot attend. There is no need to tell them what these personal reasons are.

RSVP with a simple 'Hail Satan' I'm sure they'll either shun you... then again, they might just think you need Jesus even more.
In that case, just let them know you have diarrhea.
