Because ignorance IS NOT bliss. That is a common myth, an unchecked cliche.

Ignorant people believe that in order to convince themselves they aren't missing anything, to feel better, to believe that the less they know the happier they'll be.

Lazy minds...lax understanding of bliss. See how that works!

Many people saying ignorance isn't bliss this is not the case, I used to travel to thailand about twenty years ago and we ended up on an Island with a Thai friend there was no electric no cars a few motorbikes one telephone that belonged to the post office, the place was great and everyone seemed very happy with an easy lifestyle.
Now the island has electricity (introduced TV) the kids all want telephones, new motorbikes etc etc, Hotels are now on the Island bring money the root of all Evil I can see so many changes in the place.
But we cannot be ignorant because we have he basic knowledge at hand and so the search goes on its basic human nature and we cannot turn that back.

Because ignorance is ONLY blissful and not true power. Bliss serves its purpose, but nothing lasting is blissful. With knowledge comes change and strength. Bliss was helpful for me when I did not want to do a task at work knowing I had 30 minutes to complete this task which recorded documentation states 2 and 1/2 hours in real time. But without knowledge, I would not have come up with that ingenius plan. Playing crazy and ignorance are the same to me, but works only so long and later on on the job, I had to do that task. It only bought me some time. Knowledge empowers you to be chosen for greater rewarding tasks and you will never have to do that task you do not want to even on the job.

Ignorance is only bliss when something can't be understood.
We seek knowledge to find an understanding

Although ignorance probably is bliss (just think of all the happy idiots you know) if you are not an idiot you become aware of your ignorance and try to empower yourself through knowledge. The ignorant bliss bubble is burst!

Because ignorance is also a good way to die. So we seek knowledge. Knowledge is power. Power to stay alive. So yes ignorance is bliss but we have a burning desire to survive.

Because Bliss isn't enough for many. For those who can be satisfied to remain blissfully ignorant, god bless them. Read about Odysseus in the land of the lotus eaters. Or Captain Kirk on the planet of Val.
