I literally gained 10 pounds overnight. My eating habits were no different that my normal ones, and my activity was the same. Four days later, my ankles swell up like I am nine months pregnant! Before I only weighed 128, I am not pregnant, and it's not near my period. What could be the problem? I am taking water pills, but so far no relief. Any ideas, anyone?

My overall health is great. The pills were just otc pills I picked up at the drug store. The heaviness and stiffness that you feel when you are swollen (like in my legs and feet), I also feel in my lower abdomen. Never had anything like this happen before.

Sounds like you have a kidney problem. Stop taking the water pills, unless they were prescribed to you, and make an appointment to see a doctor.

My first question to you is what type of "water pills" are you taking and second, where did you get them. Have you gone to the Doctor? YOu don't mention your overall health status. Do you have any other health conditions?

You may want to have your thyroid checked also. It could be water retention but I would get both checked as soon as possible.
