Although it is a stock holders owned company the Major share holders are Don& Doris Fisher (Founders) they opened their first store in 1969 on Ocean Ave. San Francisco Now The Gap,Baby Gap,Gap Kids,Banana Republic, Old Navy and Froth& Towne are all owned by THE GAP

Don't know but their stuff is crap..............they were in the news a while back about explioting workers/ child labour ect. bad pony- don't bet on them.....their stores in europe are in trouble!
