I have to write a paper on sensationalism, rationalism and romanticism. I get what they are and don't need a definition, but I don't understand what they mean/meant for society...How did they influence ethics morals and values?

I personally don't know, but I suggest checking out their Wikipedia pages as it's always full of useful, thorough information.

Think of it in terms of art:

sensationalism = pop art, Andy Warhol = industrial, commercial, reproducible society

rationalism = history painting, Millet = working class vs. high society

romanticism = fantasy, surrealism = Turner, Dahli = otherworldly, hoping for escape
