I don't wash the colors and whites together but I dry them together. After a few washes the color will not run off onto the whites so it's okay to mix when drying. Never had a problem...been doing it for years.

It depends on whether or not the colors have been washed before. If the are new they are apt to bleed even in the dryer. The clothes are wet when you put them in and the dye can still run onto your whites.
If the clothes have been washed a few times you should be safe.

I would not mix whites with colors with washing or drying as the lint from one will go to the other. You find white lint all over your darks or the other way around.

I do not mix whites and colored fabric. The whites will eventually look grayed and may pick up the colors.

honestly I've done it, it really matters how old the clothes is, if the colors are fairly new they might drop the color. There are garments i've had forever that i mix up there is no color left to leak, cuz they've been washed so many times.

The light colors leave lint on the darker colors. I dry them separately.

No. Wet colored clothes will still bleed onto white clothes in the dryer - especially bright or dark colors. You can dry pale colored clothes with whites, though. (Light gray, pale pink, beige, etc.)

Because I live alone and my wash loads are small I do white and the very lights together. Except would be if you on occasion want to use bleach, then do the whites alone.

I wouldn't risk it...a good rule of thumb is..if you wouldn't wash them together dont dry them together.
Even if it doesn't transfer color..the lint is a pain in the behind to deal with...
