4 rectangle tables with 12 at each = 48
1 round with 8 people = 8
48+8= a total of 56 people.

Is the host included, though? And will all 56 show up?

If the host isn't included, heck, you gotta have all the rectangle tables!

If you rent four rectangular tables, and one round one, it seats 56 perfectly. However, I would just rent five rectangular tables in case a couple of extra people show up, or so that you have more room to spread out at the tables.

if you can only afford to rent 5 tables then it is a no brainer. 5 round tables only sit 40 people while 5 square tables will sit 60. unless you don't want everybody to sit?
