what causes sudden sharp pain just below shoulder blade? The pain stays for 30-60mins. What would be a good remedy? Is this pain caused by a stitch or cramp? I don't feel any fatigue nor have I strained my shoulders. I work out 3-4x a wk for some years.

If it's below the right shoulder it could be from gall stone pain. If its the left side it could be gas pain. If its at the junction of your back and your lowest rib, it could be a kidney stone, but then it would be unbearable pain and radiate down. How soon after a meal? Did you pull a muscle? I used to get diaphragm pain from exercising, and didn't know it and it was referred back in the area too.

You pulled something and need to rest it. It will get worse if you don't allow it to heal. Remember a strong back is a terrible thing to waste.

You really should consult a doctor....it may be heart related.

p.s. I'm not bullshitting this time.
