Geographically, Kiev sits at the hub of Europe and is a completely different world but it's simple to it greater if you start from with hotelbye . Kiev is the capital of Ukraine and is the absolute most beautiful city of all post soviet countries. It is just a city of whatever you least expect. Kiev is an old town where previous meets new and east matches west. One of the points you will see in Kiev could be the St. Cyrill's Monastery. That monastery was absolutely off-the-beaten track. That little church is really as old as time, dating back to 12th century. Paintings of the popular Mikhail Vrubel take you right into a different world. And the truth that the Monastery is from the key tourist internet sites in Kyiv could make the ability a lot more humbling and inspirational.

Russian is a tricky language grammatically. no longer purely the vocabulary has little in simple with English yet additionally undemanding destiny demanding of each and every verb differs from one yet another and so as to communicate appropriate u might desire to memorize all of them. additionally the region of tension on a syllable differs the pronunciation very much. Moscow, if we exclude the racist communities, is a worldwide classification city. however the question is, will u be able to have sufficient funds it? that's been switched over right into a, very costly to stay in, city interior the previous 5 years. I commonly stay in Istanbul and the fee of a can of coke became a million/third of Istanbul in 2003 (if i became no longer unsuitable around 7rubles). appropriate now a can of coke expenses 2,5 cases of that in the process all probability. at that factor a unmarried pass in metro became 7 rubles, now as of 2010 that's 26. And no the end results of inflation isn't as much as 4 cases. So do the mathematics and notice if u'll be able to preserve Moscow cuz even residing in Cali is greater low priced because it style of feels.

I wouldn't say that Russia is the best country for living (I live in Russia) but it's not so bad, if you can over look some problems (poverty, traffic jams, lack of politeness of some people) I think it's okay to live in Russia, and yes, we're on the right track, things are getting better and better, if you want to know more - you can email me

It depends whatyou look for in life. There are bad people in every country and if you are not a local or don't know the language then you might get ripped off somehow. but you will find that genrally the people there are more polite and level headed than... lets say..... AMerica! If you dont wanty sports cars and a big house and family and friends are more important to you. You might find that this is a great place to live

My daughter was brought up in NZ and she spent a year in Russia in 1994-5. She says that even though their living standards are lower than here, there's plenty of violent crime, poverty and corruption and harsh weather, the country has a lot going for it. She likes the music, arts and crafts and literature. She says that almost everybody there has some kind of creative talent.

I agree with Elle. If you have the money, life is fine pretty much everywhere.
Also, it's hard for a foreigner to live here if he/she doesn't know the language and can't read Russian.
As for life getting better and better, it's merely propaganda. Moscow and St Pete's are getting bigger and more expensive, and the rest of the country is still half a century behind the rest of the world.
+ we've got a demographic crisis and are a very poor country.
BUT the nature is beautiful, the literature, art, music, etc are amazing.

I lived there for over a year, spoke russian, read russian and had money to spend. It is a difficult place to live. I can't imagine being comfortable there without the language or money. I is great to visit or take in small doses, but not to live! Most adult Russians here will tell you that it is a beautiful, kind country, and it is; they will also tell you that regardless of the many problems we have here, it is still better than the opressed, dirty and corrupt Russia. Sorry Russians..thats how I feel.

If you have a certain kind of mentality...If you earn sufficient not to notice everyday ****...If you speak Russian...I think it's a nice place to visit, to stay for some time...but not to live. Anyway, you have to find the key to this country, then it might work.
Good luck!
