Air often means Earth's atmosphere...which is composed of several gases....
In order for a living thing to survive....he/she/it must breathe...
humans and mammals breathe in Oxygen.....and release carbon dioxide. This process is known as respiration. Whereas plants/trees on the other hand during the day take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen....this process is known as photosynthesis.
If there was Oxygen/Carbon dioxide is extracted/released into the air. If there were no air, it would have been impossible for the above processes to occur and thereby impossible for a living being to survive.
Air also has other gases such as nitrogen, but lets not go into details about that....(i am pretty sure u don't want me to..lol.)
Why is there air?
with this question you may also be referring to the third album by Bill Cosby.
I hope this addresses your query.
